About the event

The ways in which individuals experience and express grief can vary significantly across cultures. In this training, attendees will gain knowledge of the five emerging stages of Black grief as well as the impact of Disenfranchised grief. Participants will also learn to better identify and apply interventions in regards to traumatic experiences for historically marginalized populations. This training will focus specifically on Asian-American and Black populations.

This training is facilitated by Susan Ortega, MSW, LISW-S, Syntero's director of strategic partnerships and initiatives for Franklin County, and Courtney Dobson, LISW-S, Syntero's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Program coordinator.​

Cost: $20 for community members; free for current Syntero employees and student interns.
